Prime Minister Theresa May believes she can make a comeback in Europe similar to Liverpool’s heroics against Barcelona in the Champions League.
Liverpool were three goals down heading into their semi-final second leg, but a brace each from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum saw the Reds secure a stunning 4-0 win over Lionel Messi and co on Tuesday night.
Their success staying in Europe contrasts with Britain’s inability to leave.
The UK have been given a second extension until October 31 to leave Europe following the 2016 EU referendum.
May has come under-fire for her failure to produce a clear Brexit plan.
On Wednesday, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn suggested May could learn how to succeed in Europe from Liverpool.

May replied: “I actually think that when we look at the Liverpool win over Barcelona last night, what it shows is that when everyone says it’s all over, that your European opposition have got you beat, the clock is ticking down, it’s time to concede defeat, actually we can still secure success if everyone comes together.â€
Jurgen Klopp’s side have booked their place in their second successive Champions League final, having finished runners-up to Real Madrid last season.
