That would make for a superb debut season for Unai Emery despite the Spaniard gaining some doubters in his first year at the helm.

While their trip to Azerbaijan will be the focus at the moment, Arsenal have already got a string of huge-profile fixtures booked for their pre-season plans ahead of the new campaign.

The north Londoners will be in America for their preparations to take on some of Europe’s best.

Arsenal will begin their pre-season tour with a match against MLS outfit Colorado Rapids.

They then face three International Champions Cup matches around the USA.

Emery’s side will take on Bundesliga big guns Bayern Munich, Serie A side Roma and La Liga giants Real Madrid during July.

There might well be more fixtures to come ahead of the new Premier League season which starts on August 10.
