You’d expect most airports in the world to be quiet at two o’clock in the morning wouldn’t you?
Well, in the early hours of Saturday morning Liverpool Airport was far from that, as hundreds of Reds fans embarked on their journey to Madrid for the Champions League final showdown with Tottenham.
Video footage has emerged of Reds faithful inside the city airport, belting out songs and enjoying a beverage or two in anticipation of the first all-English showdown in this competition since 2008.
Klopp’s men are the favourites to secure what would be their sixth European crown, but left-back Andy Robertson has warned his side against complacency ahead of the mouthwatering clash.
“You don’t just show up and deserve a trophy because you’ve done well in the Premier League,” the Scot told talkSPORT.
“You need to put the work in and 100 per cent effort to do that.
“We need to put in a good performance and if we do that, if we outplay Tottenham, then we deserve it.
“But, if they beat us, they will deserve it too. It’s as simple as that.”
