Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has accused Mauro Icardi of humiliating the club after axing the striker from their squad for Sunday’s match against Lazio.
The 26-year-old was stripped of the Inter captaincy in February after failing to agree a new contract, with his current deal expiring in 2021.

Icardi, who has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United, has not played since February 9 due to a knee injury.
He returned to first-team training last week, but watched from the stands as Inter lost 1-0 to top-four rivals Lazio.

Spalletti has ripped into Icardi
Spalletti said: “To have to negotiate with a player to get him to play and wear the Inter shirt is humiliating, for the fans and his team-mates.
“Do I have to email his lawyers before I can select him?
“Today, Mauro Icardi had to be left out because of the way he has behaved, it’s only fair that the others play. It’s a question of credibility.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s 12th-minute header was enough to condemn Inter to a second defeat in four league games.
But Spalletti refused to blame the poor result on Icardi’s absence.

He added: “How many defeats, worse than this one, have we had with Icardi on the pitch?
“Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo make a difference but there are very few like them.
“Professionalism and self-respect are everything. Discipline is everything.â€
