Arsenal EXCLUSIVE: John Hartson praises Aaron Ramsey for ‘showing great commitment’ – unlike Mesut Ozil

John Hartson has commended Aaron Ramsey for showing more commitment than Mesut Ozil at Arsenal despite the Wales international heading for Juventus this summer.

The Gunners are allowing Ramsey to leave at the end of the season and a host of top European clubs were after the 28-year-old.

He signed a pre-contract agreement with the Serie A giants in February.

Despite knowing he will no longer be an Arsenal player beyond the end of the season, Ramsey has shown full desire and commitment to the club.

He has also still been a key member of Unai Emery’s squad, featuring 32 times and scoring four goals.

Ozil, by contrast, has been criticised for his contributions on the pitch and has been left out of match-day squads by the manager.

Former Arsenal striker Hartson believes Ramsey’s attitude in recent months has been a good example to set.

“I think the form he’s shown, where he’s had a couple of the best months in an Arsenal shirt, is a credit to him,” Hartson told talkSPORT at the launch of the BT Sport Pub Cup.

“He could have thought he’s going off to Juve and not tried, like someone else at Arsenal whose second name begins with O. He has and gone in there and showed great commitment.

“I wish him well for the future. Arsenal didn’t want him and he’s taken advantage of that and gone abroad.”
