Milner has played a key role in Liverpool’s revival under Jurgen Klopp, and, although he is now at the ripe age of 33 and still has a year left on his current deal, he will now be Anfield bound until at least 2021.

Matip and Milner are set to be rewarded for their efforts
Liverpool’s arrangement with Milner is similar to how Sir Alex Ferguson dealt with his more senior players, where he would review the performance of his older stars when they reached their early to mid-30s.
Matip, 27, also has a year left on his current deal and has been a key player for Klopp throughout the season, starring alongside Virgil van Dijk to help them to the most clean sheets (20) in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have ended talks with Spurs about a potential use of north Londoner’s new stadium for a pre-season friendly.
