Derby edged closer to the Championship play-offs with a vital 2-0 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Bristol City.


The Rams stay sixth and go four points clear of the Robins thanks to goals from Tom Lawrence and Jayden Bogle.

Between the two goals, the Robins were reduced to ten men when Antoine Semenyo was given a straight red card for his challenge on Tom Huddlestone.


Middlesborough, however, kept up the pressure on Derby by coming from behind to beat Reading 2-1 at home.

Alan Browne restored Preston’s two-goal advantage just after the hour-mark, but Fernando Forestieri and Atdhe Nuhiu both struck with headers to haul the Owls level.
